Worship

What do our worship services look and sound like? While the best way to find out is to just join us on a Sunday or Wednesday, here is some information to help you know what to expect.

Sunday:

  1. Accessibility: There is handicap parking both behind and to the right side of the church. The wheelchair accessible entrance can be accessed from the left (Fellowship Hall) side of the building.
  2. Dress: On any given Sunday you will find people in everything from suits and dresses to Jeans and t-shirts.
  3. Music: Most of our music is congregational singing from the Trinity Hymnal. Usually it is accompanied by the piano, although on occasion you may hear an organ or guitar. Our goal is always for the music to be theologically rich, doctrinally sound, and a constructive part of the overall worship service.
  4. Preaching: Every sermon is an exposition of some portion of Scripture. Usually we are working through a book of the Bible, but sometimes there will be topical series.
  5. Family: We are committed to worship services that are inter-generational. While a nursery is available, our desire is for the entire family to have the opportunity to worship together.
  6. Lord’s Supper: We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the last Sunday of every month. The table is open to baptized members of any church that preaches the Gospel. We typically use bread and juice in our service. The elements are distributed by the elders and then we partake together.

Wednesday:

  1. Dinner: Part of Christian community if enjoying time together. We begin each Wednesday service by sharing a meal together in the Fellowship Hall. Each week is a potluck, so what we eat varies from week to week, but no one leaves hungry! Even if you are not able to bring anything you are still welcome to come and eat.
  2. Informal: Our Wednesday services are simple and pretty informal. We usually sing a few songs together, there is a short Bible study, and then we pray.
  3. Bible Study: Rather than a sermon, our Wednesday Bible study is a short discussion of some passage or topic. Questions and discussion are welcome.
  4. Prayer: We close each Wednesday service by taking prayer requests and then praying for the needs mentioned.
